Technique Tuesday - Faux Peeled Paint Technique

Hi, Everyone,

It's Technique Tuesday and today we are going to learn how to create Faux Peeled Paint which you can use on your Layouts, Cards, Art Journal pages, or Altered Art.  This is an easy technique and looks absolutely beautiful as the starting point for any of your projects.

Let's begin . . .

Creating Faux Peeled Paint in this technique is a 3 step process.
To begin, I like to apply pattern paper to my background and create my Faux Peeled Paint around the pattern paper.

Step 1 - Apply Basic Acrylic Paint around the edges of the patterned paper.  Here my paint is approximately 2" wide.

Dry the paint with a heat tool.

Step 2 - Apply Vaseline with your finger in random lines where you want the paint to "peel".   Using Vaseline allows us to apply a smaller amount of crackle paint to achieve a "peeling" of paint rather than just a crackle.

Step 3 - Apply Ranger Crackle Paint with a paint brush very gently floating over the Vaseline (being careful not to move the Vaseline).

Dry the paint with a heat tool.  The Vaseline will flow within the area you have applied it on, so the paint applied on top will pull apart in large sections and look like Peeled Paint.

Let's Not Forget the Gentlemen!

Hi, Everyone!

I've been a busy Little Bee creating 2 cards for my upcoming Tim Holtz Style Card Class.  We will be making 2 cards this month, to make up for the May class I missed.

I always buy all Tim Holtz's new products when they come out & wait for inspiration to strike so I can play with the new product.  The Mirror Sheets were just one of those products I've been waiting to use. We will also be playing with StazOn ink, Tim's Blueprint stamps & Kraft Resist paper . . . & don't forget those metal embellishments!

. . . & what about that Roulette Wheel!  It's totally over the top & so right for any man in your life, young or just young at heart.  Suitable for any birthday, retirement, graduation, any great achievement or milestone, or . . . simply just because.
