G45 Couture INTER-ACTIVE Mini-Album

Hi, Everyone,

It's going to be a very busy & exciting New Year.

In 9 days I'm boarding a plane with my bestest buddy to create at ART Venture 2014 in Anaheim, California.  This event is going to be spectacular!  It's 2 days of 6 Prima Classes from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. with 6 amazing instructors . . . one of them being Anna Dabrowska, my absolute FAVOURITE Artist of all time!

Then from January 10-14 is the winter CHA (Craft & Hobby Association) where companies release their new product lines!  This is the 1st time I have had the opportunity to go & I am so thrilled!  I've also registered for 4 classes.  I'm so pumped.

As an additional treat after CHA my bestest buddy is taking me to see the Pacific Ocean!  I am so lucky to have Roxane as my travelling companion.  We are on cloud nine!

Then once I get back, my eldest daughter gets married January 24.  I still have wedding favours, a seating chart, menus, table numbers, programs, directions for the guest book (puzzle pieces) & a Ukrainian Wedding Bread to make.  Oh dear God, there's not enough days to get everything done . . . & did I mention that I am so fortunate to babysit my grandson 3 days a week!

Life is good.

Now, to announce my 1st class of 2014:

Merry Christmas!

Hi, Everyone,
Thank you so much for creating with me over this past year.

I love your enthusiasm & you showing me the things you've created after taking my classes & the awesome things you have created on your own.

I would like to share with you the cards I made this year.  Have a look.

I chose black cards & envelopes for my base.  Classic & Elegant.

Of course the Tim Holtz Doily Die with something new . . . clear plastic tape with white designs.

The clear tape with white designs is available at Treasured Memories & looks so beautiful on dark backgrounds.  Here I used the snowflake design . . . & doesn't that drywall mesh look amazing on the envelope along with the paper bow?

The Tim Holtz Ornament die from last year has the tiny ornament hanger that I love to use to hang my sentiments from (the silver sparkle paper looks amazing).

Don't forget a slide mount made from card stock & staples.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas & a joyous New Year!

Have fun creating!

Tim Holtz Style Christmas Sampler

Hi, Everyone,
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas . . . la . . . la la . . . la la . . . well, in my studio anyway.

I've gathered all my Christmas themed Tim Holtz Embellishments, his new Christmas Binder, & have created a beautiful Sampler to spark your creativity:

Even the Paper Tree Charm on the spine is made from scratch.

We use Crackle Paint, Embossing Powder, Rub-ons & Alpha Stickers.  The tree is pop-doted & decorated with tinsel, twine & metal Mittens

I cut down Karen Burniston's 3D Sizzex Die to create the Bracket shaped pages & added on paper for extra depth.  Love the 3D sparkly snowflake & metal/crystal embellishment!

There is also a Bracket shape that fits with the 3D die creating the background pages.  We use Crackle Paints for the Birdcage & decorate them with dangly charms, even a crown.

Check out the Laced Skates!  Of course we will be using Inka Gold for the blades.

A filled Christmas Stocking with one of Tim's new Skate Charms.

Tim's new Wreath Die decorated with Metal & his tiny tree.

Oh those Reindeer . . . metal too!

Oh so pretty decorated Christmas Bulb

Loving his Rub-ons.

Mixed Media Sunday - November

Hi, Everyone,

I absolutely love Art Journalling & have created quite a collection of loose pages.

As well, my husband knows better than to throw anything away before asking if I can up-cycle it in a project.  This is a win win situation for all of us since he has been giving me binder rings to create projects with.  Because of this, I decided to make a Binder Ring Art Journal from Scratch to store my beautiful pages in & I will be sharing this project with you too in an upcoming class.

I've combined Canvas Boards with Prima papers, square doilies, vintage sheet music, & silk flowers covered with sticky embossing powder & Clear Rock Candy Distress Glitter to create the covers.  The flowers look like they are covered in SUGAR with Tim's clock peeking out!  It's a very pretty effect.  Of course to grunge it up, I added screw brads, a metal key hole & door knob which holds an elastic closure.  The book jewellery on the spine consists of lace trim, metal garter clip, & a crystal charm.  Inka-Gold "Old Silver" adds a touch of shimmer to the edges.

Have a look!

Sunday, November 3

Prima - Shabby Chic Resin Treasures

Hi, Everyone,

Prima's "Delight" paper collection is so beautiful.  It's Shabby Chic pastele colours are so soft & feminine & I love how the diagonal corners are already decorated for you.

On the layout below, I matted the Paris photo on Prima packaging which already has the words {Create} memories printed on it.  Next I  placed Prima's 12x12" broken glass stencil over the entire layout then scraped modeling paste from the photo onto the pattern paper.  The subtle texture is very pretty.  I then popped Prima's Shabby Chic Resin Treasures (a window & bird) over the edge of the photo.  The lower collaged grouping has 3 Prima flowers, a zipper pull, & a water faucet.  The upper collaged grouping has my photo in an antique frame with a "Delight" journaling card saying . . . One Day I will see the City of Lights!

Oh, did you see the Rose Quartz Inka-Gold on the lower right edge of both the antique frame & the layout?  The Inka-Gold adds a soft subtle shine to the layout.  I LOVE Inka-Gold so much that I have every single colour & add a tiny bit on everything!  It's just like sunshine . . . it makes me smile.

Have fun creating!

Prima "Junkyard Findings" Layout

Hi, Everyone,

I love vintage, I love doilies, & oh do I Ever love metal embellishments!

On one of my frequent shopping excursions, I was lucky enough to stumble upon square paper doilies.  These square paper doilies look amazing paired up with Prima's "Junkyard Findings".  Since I love all metal I tend to mix different finishes together.

Junkyard Findings are just that.  A random finding of metals with random finishes from vintage trinkets to water pipe parts, heart gears & watch parts.

In the layout below I've combined white heart gears with silver water pipes, antique brass taps, copper metal pulls, & black watch parts . . . all from Prima.  They blend together beautifully.

Have a look at the "Time 2 Explore" layout below:

Did you notice the peek-a-boo white heart gear & the copper metal pull in the top righthand corner of the layout?  I've combined old black wooden tiles & silver alphabet brads to spell the title "Time 2 Explore".  This title is repeated in the layout ever so subtly on the water pouring out of the tap (Time), the Roman numeral (II), & on the zipper (Explore).  Prima's water pipe frames are 1 solid piece & the package contains 2 water pipe photo corners as well.

I especially like how the water pipe parts are all separate so you can arrange them in any configuration on your project.  See how I outlined the left edge of my photo ending with a water tap spilling out "Time"?  I repeated the time theme with the clock hand over the heart gears.

. . . & what about those burlap flowers?  Since this was my grandson's first exploration outside, I thought flowers were in order, burlap that is, because I wanted to create a masculine theme.  Oh, by the way, did you also notice the {CREATE memories} Prima packaging?  Yes, packaging.  Don't throw away that beautiful packaging that comes with your embellishments . . . slide it on a layout.

This was a fun layout to create.  I hope it inspired you as well.

Have fun creating!
